HEC Research Awards 2024: Call for Applications

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) is inviting Pakistani researchers and scholars to submit applications for the HEC Research Awards competition. These awards aim to recognize excellence in research, contribute to intellectual development, and promote high-impact publications across various academic fields.

Award Categories

  1. Best Researcher
  2. Best Young Researcher
  3. Best Publication

Eligibility Criteria

General Eligibility:

  • The applicant must have never been blacklisted by the HEC.
  • The applicant or publication must not have received the same award earlier.
  • None of the publications credited to the applicant/authors should be plagiarized according to the HEC plagiarism policy.

Specific Criteria for Each Category:

Best Researcher:

  • The applicant must be a resident of Pakistan for at least three years by January 01, 2024.
  • Best Young Researcher:
  • The applicant must be under 40 years of age by January 01, 2024.
  • The applicant must have been a resident of Pakistan for at least one year by January 01, 2024.

Best Publication:

  • The publication must be a scholarly book or journal article.
  • The publication should not be more than three years old by January 01, 2024.
  • The publication should be written by no more than three authors.
  • All authors must be residents of Pakistan for at least three years by January 01, 2024.
  • The research article must be published in an HEC-recognized W-category journal.
  • The research articles must have a minimum of 100 citations.
  • Previously submitted publications for the same award category are not eligible for resubmission.
  • Books must be published by a recognized academic press.

Applications must be submitted through the HEC online portal. Incomplete or late applications will not be entertained.
