Position Overview

NBP is looking for a highly experienced professional to lead the Assets Rehabilitation Wing North within the Special Assets Management Division. This position requires individuals with significant expertise in corporate and commercial credit risk management, corporate recovery, and litigation, ideally suited to oversee the rehabilitation of distressed assets.

Eligibility Criteria

  • To apply for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience:

Educational Qualification:

  • Minimum Graduation or equivalent from a university/college/institute recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
  • Candidates with a Master’s Degree or relevant professional qualification will be given preference.

Experience:

  • At least 10 years of banking experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role in one of the following areas:
  • Corporate or Commercial Recovery
  • Corporate or Commercial Credit Risk Management
  • Corporate or Commercial Business
  • Experience in relevant litigation will be preferred.

Other Skills and Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of Corporate and Commercial credit.
  • Familiarity with SBP (State Bank of Pakistan) Prudential Regulations.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • The selected candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

Legal and Financial Review:

  • Conduct legal and financial reviews of newly tagged relationships and prepare action plans and strategies with the team.

Restructuring and Rehabilitation:

  • Negotiate with obligors to agree on restructuring and rehabilitation plans aimed at liability rehabilitation, ultimately contributing to the bank’s profitability through cash recovery and reversal of provision.

Supervision of Credit Appraisals:

  • Supervise the initiation of credit appraisals by the Risk Management Section (RMS) for approval from the competent authority.

Client Visits and Reviews:

  • Arrange and conduct client visits when necessary to assess project performance and the company’s financial needs.

Monitoring Rehabilitation Progress:

  • Monitor the rehabilitation of relationships to ensure they stay on track and take corrective actions in line with settlement/rehabilitation packages.

Legal Actions and Litigation:

  • Supervise the preparation for suit filing, criminal complaints, and other legal remedies. Monitor the progress of litigation cases in consultation with the NBP Legal Division.

Target and Performance Review:

  • Periodically review the allocated targets versus achievements and take necessary actions to meet annual goals.

Business Plan Preparation:

  • Prepare the annual business plan in consultation with team members.

Other Assignments:

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Employment Type

  • The employment will be on a contractual basis for three years, with the possibility of renewal at the discretion of the management. The selected candidates will be offered a competitive compensation package along with benefits according to NBP’s policies.
