The Defence Housing Authority (DHA), under its Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Malir Industrial Park (MIP), Karachi, has announced a job opening for the position of Chief Finance Officer (CFO). Position Available: Chief Finance Officer (CFO)

The position of CFO is crucial to the success of the DHA Special Economic Zone (Malir Industrial Park), which aims to promote industrial growth, investment, and job creation in the region. The CFO will play a strategic role in overseeing the financial health of the park, managing resources efficiently, and ensuring the sustainable growth of businesses operating within the SEZ.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the goals of DHA Malir Industrial Park (MIP).
  • Drive fiscal growth and stability, ensuring the financial health of the SEZ to support infrastructure development and business operations.

Budgeting and Resource Allocation:

Oversee the budgeting process for MIP, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently to support infrastructure, incentives, and investment promotion activities.

Financial Ecosystem Enhancement:

  • Collaborate with public and private sector stakeholders to create a conducive financial environment within the MIP.
  • Facilitate investment and financing opportunities for businesses, startups, and investors in the park.

Risk Management:

Assess and mitigate financial risks specific to the MIP environment, such as currency exchange risks, trade regulations, and global economic challenges.

Compliance and Regulatory Expertise:

  • Ensure full compliance with local and international financial laws and regulations relevant to MIP operations.
  • Keep updated with regulatory changes to maintain the MIP’s credibility and attractiveness for investors.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Implement financial metrics to track the economic progress of the MIP, including job creation, export growth, and GDP contribution.
  • Adjust strategies based on performance data.

Investment Promotion:

  • Develop financial incentives and promotional strategies to attract both domestic and foreign investments to the MIP.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work with other departments within MIP to ensure financial goals align with broader economic development objectives.

Financial Reporting:

  • Oversee comprehensive financial reporting processes, producing detailed reports that highlight economic progress, incentives utilization, and investment outcomes.

Capacity Building:

  • Lead a team of financial experts, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of transparency and continuous learning within the team.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Qualification:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional qualification in finance/accounting.
  • A strong understanding of corporate laws, audit, taxation, and joint venture agreements.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience in finance, accounts, and corporate governance.
  • A comprehensive work history in the industrial/real estate sector, with at least 5 years in a senior financial role.

Age Limit:

  • Candidates must be between 40 to 55 years of age.

Skills Set:

  • Proficiency in financial planning and forecasting.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing accounting systems and internal controls.
