Job Description

General Insurance Company has advertised for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The candidate will be required to manage and oversee the operations of the Public Sector General Insurance Commission based at its head office in Karachi, Sindh. Candidates with the appropriate qualifications and experience will be considered.

Required Qualifications & Experience

The following qualifications and experience are required for the Chief Executive Officer position:

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in administrative or a related field or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
  • An advanced qualification such as a Master’s degree in Insurance Management or Actuarial Sciences from an HEC-recognized university will be preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • At least 10 years of work experience in an important position within the insurance industry, with a proven track record of high performance.
  • Additional qualifications, such as being a Fellow of the Actuarial Institute or Society, or an equivalent recognized qualification by the Pakistan Society of Actuaries, are desirable.

Age Criteria:

The applicant should be between 45 and 57 years of age at the time of application.

Selection Criteria & Conditions

  • Candidates applying for the post of CEO must meet the eligibility criteria set by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) under the Insurance Companies (Solvency and Prudent Management) Regulations, 2012. The final selection of the candidate will also be subject to compliance with these regulations.
  • Selection Process: Candidates who meet the required eligibility criteria will be shortlisted and called for an interview.
  • Tenure: The selected candidate will be appointed for a 3-year term, subject to specific terms and conditions.
