Hiring Announcement for Project Director
The Sindh Livestock & Fisheries Department seeks a qualified and experienced professional for the position of Project Director for the World Bank Assisted Sindh Livestock and Aquaculture Development (SLAD/LIVAQUA) project. The position is based at the Project Implementation Unit (PIU), Hyderabad, Sindh.
Key Responsibilities
- The Project Director will oversee the day-to-day management and operational execution of the SLAD/LIVAQUA project. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and implementing Project Implementation Plans (PIPs) in accordance with project objectives.
- Overseeing procurement processes and ensuring compliance with World Bank Procurement Regulations.
- Managing budgeting, monitoring, and financial reporting.
- Ensuring compliance with environmental and social standards.
- Supervising a team of environmental and social experts within the PIU.
- Building collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including public and private sector entities.
- Documenting best practices, lessons learned, and innovative approaches to improve project outcomes.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Livestock or Fisheries disciplines.
- A Master’s degree in Project Management is preferred.
Experience
- At least 15 years of experience in BPS-17 or above in the government sector.
- A minimum of 5 years as a Project Director/Manager or Deputy Project Director in livestock or aquaculture-related foreign-funded projects. Preference will be given to experience with World Bank-funded projects.
Skills and Preferences
- Proficiency in English and Sindhi (verbal and written).
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Preference for candidates with residence and experience in the Sindh livestock sector.
